Go to the Home page and view this week's topic. Learn sufficient information about this topic to gather an opinion, if you do not know enough already. You are also welcome to submit artwork about aspects of politics and society (whether ancient or modern) that aren't one of the suggested topics. All artwork must display some sort of viewpoint or opinion. It's not enough to just show that something happened. I'm going to require some sort of societal commentary or opinion.
If you chose a topic, go to that topic's specific page, which can be found on the Topics page, to get ideas for your submission, and view popular examples of art dealing with that topic as you learn more about said topic.
Create a work of art of some sort that relates back to the week's topic or whatever subject you chose. This may be written, digital, drawn, or any other reasonable medium. Make sure it has a title.
If you are applying for Extra Credit at Carnegie Vanguard High School, be sure to follow your teacher's guidelines.
Complete the work of art and turn it in. 3D art must be turned in in person on one of two specific days, as shown on the Calendar. Electronic submissions, which includes all electronic work and photographs of all 3D work, are due the Friday of each applicable week. Participants who are not students at Carnegie Vanguard High School may not submit 3D art, but are allowed to send photographs of 3D art in. To turn in electronic work, each participant must either share the object on Google Drive, Dropbox, or email it to [email protected].
Turn in the Google form. All work, whether 3D or digital, must be turned in with this Google form for filing purposes. If you want your work to get published or you want extra credit, you must submit this form each time. If you submitted last cycle, this is a different form.
What are the rules?
In order to be considered for extra credit, refer to individual teachers or click the page titled Extra Credit. To be eligible for extra credit for any class, students must submit eligible artwork at least three times.
All work submitted, whether for extra credit or not, must show time and effort. The end goal is to get this work published, therefore work should be reasonably well-done.
All work must be submitted by the due dates provided on the Calendar page.
All work submitted must be in line with that section's current theme. For this week's theme, go to the Topic page.
All artwork must be submitted along with this form.
If artwork is 3D, it must be turned in in person in between the Thursday before the deadline, or the Monday immediately following the deadline. Some weeks do not allow Monday submissions because of school scheduling, so refer to the Calendar page to be sure. There are two days in the week before Spring Break in which Late 3D submissions will be taken.
All participants must email me at least 24 hours in advance via email if their work is 3D so that I can expect to retrieve work from them. 3D art must still be turned in with the online form and an electronic picture of the artwork for filing purposes.
